The new Fantastic Four

I was a little worried when I was given this link that indicates that there is a new Fantastic Four movie in production. Then I read the details. Now I'm trying not to fall off my chair with laughter.

Putting Steve Ballmer as Mr Fantastic was good, but casting Lowtax (of Something Awful fame) as Thing was a stroke of genius.

I did wonder who would play Susan Richards, but then I realised how much the movie budget could be reduced if they just don't show her. After all, she is invisible.

Fancy a swim?

The London Marathon had a very unusual entrant this year:

In a field of 32,875 runners, Scott finished in 32,875th place — or, to put it more succinctly, dead last — far behind one of the race's oldest participants, 90-year-old Jenny Wood Allen, who tore through the course in under 12 hours.

But what seems a distinctly unimpressive display of athletic prowess, takes on a whole new perspective upon hearing that he ran the entire race encased in a 130-pound 1940s deep-sea diving suit.

While it may seem that this guy simply has no idea how to choose a reasonable hobby, he was actually rasing money for charity. £100,000 is probably worth running for five days, eight hours, and 30 minutes. To date, though all of his stunts, Lloyd Scott has raised millions of dollars for charity.

The world needs more people like him: wacky, but with a good heart.

Xbox sucks down under too

Yes, it's official; Microsoft are panicking. They have just decided to reduce the price of the Xbox by 40% here in Australia. It doesn't seem a coincidence that release of the Nintendo GameCube is only a few weeks away, and the new Xbox price is exactly that of the GameCube. They might have sold 10,000 Xbox units in the first few days, but only 13,000 units have sold since then. That's incredibly short of the expect 100,000 units Microsoft were planning to distribute within the first three months.

The Xbox's price will also be reduced by nearly 50% in Europe. For some reason, Microsoft haven't made a similar annoucement in the US. Perhaps Microsoft is just trying to annoy all the Americans. I don't think that will sell more Xboxes.

Just tuck your tail between those legs, Bill. We won't laugh too hard if you run away now.
