Nano Sucker

Last night I stayed up until 3am to help Kurt finish off an entry for 1W1B2, the competition that gives you one week to write one game that uses only one button. We sort of anti-cheated, and only gave ourselves one day.

So, without further ado, may I present our masterpiece:

Nano Sucker

Update: Now updated to work under Windows XP. Lucky you.

  1. Hrm…

Might want to look at that one a bit more… The installer runs, but the game don’t. 🙂

“This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.”

    Russ %-)

  2. Darn it. You’re the second person to get that error.

After all of our… er… five minutes of testing. On two computers.

I believe it’s something to do with a missing DLL (despite the error message). We’ll have a look at it later today and get an updated version out. In the meantime, someone managed to get it to work by installing .NET 2.0.

See, kids — this is what happens when you don’t design your algorithms and document your code 🙂

  3. Okay, thanks to the wonders of VC++6, we’re now completely ignoring the fact that VC++8 and XP manifests are really stupid.

    Do enjoy a working version.

  4. Any project designed and imlemented in a day is classy by definition 🙂

Of course, that was originally just a test message, but between liking it and being tired — things are always much funnier when one is tired — it never did get replaced.
