Well thank $DEITY for that. Celine Dion's new album won't work in many of the world's CD players. That means there's much less chance of me having to hear it. Hooray!

Even better, it appears that attempting to play the CD in some CDROM drives will cause PCs to crash. I'm quite sure it's not a coincidence that this is the CD they've decided to try this technique on first. Record executives are obviously not subtle people.

If the rumours about crashing PCs are true, it will be interesting to see the outcome of the first court case. I can imagine how annoyed someone would be if they lost the data they were working with because their PC went down when they switched CDs.
