You greasy little monkey

How does a single geek with minimal financial resources relax? By spending far too much time looking at all the cool toys, hardware and games that are coming out. Isn’t that sensible?

One of the (admittedly many) sites that frequent is WorthPlaying, but I’m constantly annoyed that the screenshots open in annoying popups. There’s no quick way to open a bunch of these screenshots in multiple tabs. Given that I’m a very important and busy person (you can stop laughing now), I don’t really think this is a useful way to spend my evenings.

So I wrote my first Greasemonkey script: the WorthPlaying Popup Fixer. Goodbye foul javascript popups! Begone!

What’s that? You have no idea what I’m talking about?

Okay, to use the script, go and install Greasemonkey — you are running Firefox, aren’t you? Restart Firefox, browse to my unbelievably useful and amazing script (he’s so modest, isn’t he girls?) . Now select “Install User Script” from your “Tools” menu, press okay a few times, and you’re done.

And now I can return to the productive scanning of computer games that I can’t afford, requiring computing power that I do not possess. Thanks Greasemonkey!
